Every month the DubHub hosts an art exhibit featuring the works of an artist from the Monadnock Region. An opening reception for each show is usually held the first Friday of the month from 5 to 7 pm with refreshments and an opportunity to meet the artist. Most of the artists’ works are for sale with 20 percent of the proceeds benefitting the Community Center.
Christopher Myott, of Jaffrey, first featured artist since the pandemic began.
Chris combines tools, plants, figures, and other abstract forms into oil paintings using a palette knife and other implements to manipulate and draw through the surface of the paint. He employs finishing techniques learned as a furniture maker to highlight textural elements that resemble the patina of age.
The opening reception will be on Friday, August 6, from 5 to 7pm. His work can be viewed during the month of August at various times (coffee and conversation, and during special events). For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
Small Treasures Art Show and Sale
Entering its fifth year, the Small Treasures Art Show and Sale is held in the beginning of December. Area artists are invited to exhibit and sell their works of pieces 5 x 7 inches and under, both hanging and three-dimensional. The preview opening reception for the show is held on the first Friday of December from 5 to 7 pm. The works are then sold through an online website the following week.
Artists contribute the proceeds from the sale of their first piece and 20 percent of the proceeds of the sale of subsequent pieces to the Community Center.
